Ordering Add-Ons from the Library
Many of the Add-Ons in this library have many variables such as colors, font styles etc. If the Add-On you choose is basic HTML or JavaScript you will be sent the code otherwise you will be sent an email requesting further information to help us customize your order and get it right for you.
Please note due to the complexity of this service from our viewpoint it is not an automated system so each order is processed manually by a Customer Service Representative.

This service is available Monday to Friday excluding public holidays. We aim to process orders in 48 hours however if we are particularly busy they may take a little longer.
Add To Favorites (back to menu)
There are different ways of doing this - with text or with a button.
Note that in the text example font style can be changed and the words can be changed in both.
Anchor links is a system whereby a link is clicked on and sends a visitor to a point further down (or up) a page.
Example - The menu system on this page is using them.
The "Top of Page" link at the foot of this page is also the same system. It is also possible to set an anchor link to a point on a different page.
Borders For Photos (back to menu)
WWS comes with the facility to set frames or borders of a range of pre-set styles to your photographs however if you want just a simple border this can easily be created with some simple HTML without having to purchase an expensive software progam if your only use for it would be to create a border for photographs for your website.
Sizes & colors can be changed.
Ideal if your photo has white edges and your web page is white!

CSS - Ease Of Use - Read Para 2 (back to menu)
CSS stands for Cascading Style Sheets and is basically a language used to describe how an HTML document should be formatted and CSS can be inserted into WWS web pages.
With one CSS you can control certain elements of all your web pages so, should you want to change the color of your text you can change all your web pages at the same time purely by editing and re-published the CSS. For this reason we suggest using CSS on all of your web pages.
The scope of using CSS is vast. If you are an advanced user you can use them for whatever you want - from text styles through to creating a web page template. If you are not familiar with CSS we strongly recommend you stick to using them for the control of text, link formats and page backgrounds only. This is easy to apply to WWS pages
Everyone these days is getting used links appearing differently from the rather boring blue & purple underlined links that used to be the standard system and could also spoil the appearance of a web page.
Example - all of the links on the WWS website (among other elements) are controlled using CSS. As you will have noticed the elements have been set to dark blue for unvisited, white text with dark blue border for mouse over and dark blue for visited. These can be changed to suit personal preferences and to match the design of your web pages.
You will find more examples of link styles using CSS on the Links section.
We will supply a Cascading Style Sheet to any fully paid up WWS Member FREE OF CHARGE. Editing the CSS is so easy as is inserting the link ref. When you receive a CSS you will receive simple instructions of how to make it all work.
This system is controlled by your computer's clock so if you built your site in Australia and your site visitors are from Holland they will see the Dutch date & time.
Dashed & Solid Lined Boxes (back to menu)
Dashed Boxes are a striking way to emphasize some text, images or both in the same box (we have used credit card logos in our example) on your page and are fully customizable.
Borders & Text - colors, sizes, width, alignment & padding. Links can be added to the text and/or images.Examples click here
Dividers are a great way to keep your page layout clean. Our "Add More To Your Site" page that you are currently on would be hard to read without the dividers separating each section.
WWS has a section built into the site builder for you to create and customize dividers however there is a very simple and quick HTML alternative you can use that will create dividers of different colors and sizes. The height, width & alignment can be set. If you use a divider set to 100% width it will expand and contract automatically to fit without stretching if the window size is reduced.

Flash - For Advanced Users (back to menu)
Flash is vector animation software. It is possible to insert Flash into WWS.
The possibilities of Flash are endless but you will need a program to create SWF files. We use & recommend Swish.
This program is excellent for simple Flash effects, which has a many pre-made effects, right through to complex Flash effects.

Guest Books can be added to WWS however you will need software for this such as Alxnet.Learn more
This is a simple button that when hovered over with a mouse can change color. When clicked on it will take the visitor to another page.
If you don't have software to make JavaScript buttons you can use this simple and effective system to make a striking menu for your web pages. Linking is really easy!

HTML stands for Hyper Text Markup Language and is the code used to make up a website. The potential of HTML is vast but don't be put off from using it.
If you are an advanced HTML user you will know what to do and won't be coming to us for help but if you are not we will keep things simple.WWS comes complete with everything you need to create a complete website including web hosting and with WWS Business you get a free domain name.
As we know from our email enquiries many of you out there would like to add more features, such as the ones on this section, to your web pages and the way to do this is with HTML. WWS has been designed with an "add HTML object" feature within the text editor. This allows you to add very easily and quickly 3rd party HTML into your WWS pages allowing you to create a truly unique website.
For all paid up WWS Business Members we offer, at no extra charge over membership subscriptions, to give you the HTML for features in this section of our website (excluding those mentioned such as Guest Books from 3rd party organizations etc) and all you have to do is edit the HTML with your personal preferences - font types, colors, sizes etc. This is not so difficult however we will also explain what you have to do and highlight the bits you need to edit.
WWS has a built in system for easily linking pages together as well as inserting email links and links to text and images with an option of opening in a new window.
There are basically 4 elements to set text links: normal, visited, active & hover. To avoid spoiling the page display it is better to leave out the active one. Also your pages will look better if you set the normal and visited the same.
Using CSS you can set the links with different colors with no text decoration, with underlining, with bold font or with a background border with adjustable padding or any combination of these.
You will find further information about this topic in the CSS, Menu / Navigation and Open In New Window sections.
You can create bulleted lists and bulleted paragraphs with WWS either copied from a text editing program or from with the WWS text editor however you can take this a stage further using HTML.

Open In A New Window (back to menu)
Mostly used for photos and the most requested add-on for inserting into WWS. Its very easy to do providing you take care in editing some simple HTML which, as with all of the topics in this section, we provide free to full WWS Personal Plus, WWS Business & WWS Business Plus Members.
This is not only for photos - we recommend using this system for PDF (Adobe Reader) files to reduce the possibility of losing your site visitors - see our section on PDF files.
It is also possible to insert pop up windows into WWS. Further information and examples can be found a little further down this page in the Pop Up Window section.
Why should I want my photos opening in a new window or a pop up window?
If you choose to display many large images on a page it will be slow to open especially for people with a slow Internet connection. Having your images open in a new or pop up window means you can speed up the page opening time by having the images open from thumbnails or text. Generally visitors don't like to hang around waiting for pages that take too long to open and also using this system means you can display much larger versions of your images than you would normally do if they were all on the same page.

PDF (Adobe Reader) Files (back to menu)
PDF Files, otherwise known as Adobe Reader Files are a great way on putting document on a web page that you would like your visitors to be able to easily print.
These are ideal for menus, newsletters, instruction manuals, warranty forms, application forms.... We have used PDF Files on our website to create a printer friendly version of our Tutorial.
If you need software to export in PDF format you will find it free in Open Office. This program is available in many different languages.

If you plan to build a web site with many pages it is a good idea to add a site map. Your visitors won't hang around if they can't find what they are looking for easily.
There are many ways of creating a site map. A simple but effective method is the menu at the top of this page although it its current application it is also serving as a menu. To create a system like this is not difficult.
It's best to start with a plan on paper.
The links on our menu are anchor links which sends the visitor to a different point on this page - it is just as easy to built this system with the links re-directing to another page however if you wanted to you could leave the links out altogether and use the system as just a site plan.
Example - see the menu at the top of this page.
HTML Tables have very wide range of uses with many different formats.
Our examples include Charts, Menus (food & drink etc) & Price / Product Lists and Text in Equal Width Columns however you can create tables to display many different ideas. Our menu on this page is made from a table and also serves as a site map.

If you want to put a link into your web page that will open up your visitors email client so they can email someone with the link to your page you can use this.
Example:
Note: The words "Tell a friend!" can be changed to anything you like.
If you are not an advanced HTML user or a beginner with computers please take note of these tips. They will save you time and reduce the desire to throw your computer through a window!
Once you have become a WWS Personal Plus, WWS Business or WWS Business Plus Member and you wish to take advantage of our add-ons service HTML code will be sent to you from us via email.
If it is in a document save it with a new name different to the original i.e. from my-html to my-html-1
If it is on an email page either save a copy of that email with a different name or copy & paste the HTML code onto a separate document - saved with a unique name.
Each time you edit the HTML (and the editing will be easy - altering colors, entering your text etc) save your document with a new name. This way if you make a mess of it you will have the original to go back to.
Take care when copy & pasting HTML into the WWS editor. If you miss out a < your HTML code will NOT work!
If you are editing a web page you have already made make a copy of that page first and work on that. If you insert the HTML incorrectly you may break the page and may have to start the whole page from scratch!!
It is possible with WWS to insert video clips onto a web page. In our example we have used a short clip from YouTube however as there are many organizations with such services the choice of who you use is yours.
Be sure to check the Terms & Conditions of whoever you use before publishing on your website. Example click here
Watermarked Backgrounds - For Advanced Users (back to menu)
WWS comes with the facility to set page background color, use various inbuilt background styles or you can upload your own image to use.
To take this one stage further we have created an example that uses a static watermarked background so when you scroll up and down the image stays still.
This is ideal for portraying a company logo or you maybe you would just like to show a photograph. The example we have shown is an image with a transparency set that requires software to achieve this effect.
